About us

The Guy Chester Centre is a ministry of the Methodist Church. The centre manages the North Bank Estate which holds together a wide group of people living and working in North London 

• Methodist Homes offer nursing care, sheltered accommodation and a high dependency dementia unit
• The Halls of Residence provide excellent accommodation for 120 young people attending university, college or in their first job
• The Tennis Club keeps people physically fit, and
• The local Methodist Church, which shares the Estate with us, keeps them spiritually so.
  
  We have recently created a suite of consulting rooms which are the base for Bishop Harvey Family Service (a project of Catholic Children’s’ Society (Westminster) who work with children, adolescents and their families. We also host the work of Zion Counselling - who have an adult focus. These consulting rooms are also available for hire at a sessional rate by other counsellors and similar professionals working with the local community.
  
  We have just redesigned and upgraded our Conference and Retreat Centre which, along with the grounds and gardens, gives you superb space for your conference, manager’s away day or church leaders’ planning.
  
  We have established a Training & Spirituality team who offer a range of quiet days, retreats, courses and other events. A small and growing team of people have been drawn together for this work with skills in counselling, spiritual direction, psychotherapy, adult learning, theology and prayer. The team can also run a range of courses and events at bases near you or at your church. (See On the Road for further information.)
  
  We are also developing Step Forward material for small group study as a resource aimed at Methodist churches seeking support in Extending Discipleship Exploring Vocation (EDEV)
